Procrastination at Its Finest? Or A Blessing in Disguise?

This past Sunday, I came across this PostSecret card and it has been one of many that I can relate to seeing as how I've been rejected by ever school that I applied to last cycle. I've been recently debating registering for the MCAT again - I know I need to take it, but I've been skeptical as to WHEN I'd like to take the exam. Whether or not to take it this summer to apply now or push it back again has been my main concern. I had been aiming for this upcoming May, however as May draws nearer I knew I wouldn't be ready - ah my procrastination and responsibilities at it's finest.

Last night, I finally decided to register for the last exam date in May because I really know this is what I want to do with my life; it wasn't until I started registering and looking for available testing dates that there are literally no seats available in the states of Florida, Georgia, OR Alabama until almost beginning July. Furthermore, there were no seats for the early July exam...thus pushing my exam date to the middle of July. Bummer? Quite possibly...Silver lining? More time to prepare and a better chance of knocking it out of the park ultimately securing my entrance into medical school. That sounds more like a gold lining, but I guess optimism wouldn't be a bad thing in life right now seeing as how I still have some work to do.

Either way, I'm going to put my best foot forward and take this alternate testing opportunity and exploit it to the fullest. My days of procrastination and doubt are coming to an end - it's time to wake up and start taking the initiative and get my dreams versus passively sitting by hoping for them to come true. I know it's all going to be tough, but I was fortunate enough to have been given caring and supportive family and friends to turn to when I'm down.
